Crespo is not going to retire (1 Aug 2007 11:21 GMT)
Crespo (32) was one of the veterans of the squad in the Copa America, but scored three goals in the tournament, despite only playing two matches after sustaining an injury when he converted a penalty kick in the first round victory over Colombia.
After that match many thought his time with the national had come to an end, because of his age and the fact that Argentina counts with an abundance of younger highly skilled attackers, like Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero, Javier Saviola and Rodrigo Palacio.
But Crespo, who plays his club football for Inter Milan, affirms "I?m going to keep on bothering them. It is a place where I have to be".
The prolific striker continued "unfortunately in important tournaments like the World Cup in '98 and 2002 I was more out than in, like in the Copa America, but while I still can I will try my best to stay on".
Crespo, who has been on vacation for two weeks, is eager to represent his national team in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, that kick off later in the year.
"I always want to be part of the national team. But it depends on the thoughts of the coaching staff", Crespo concluded.
