Sevilla signs Argentine defender Fazio (26 Jan 2007 18:17 GMT)
Sevilla has signed teenage Argentine defender Federico Fazio from Ferro Carril Oeste on a five-year contract.
Fazio's contract will carry a €15 million (US$19.5 million) buy-out clause, Sevilla said Thursday.
As Ferro Carril Oeste is currently in receivership, a Buenos Aires court ruled that it should accept Sevilla's offer because it was the biggest the Argentine club had received.
Sevilla didn't say how much it had paid for Fazio, an Argentina under-20 international.
Fazio will join Sevilla once the South American under-20 championship ends next week.
