Club Atlético de Madrid's leading scorer Maxi Rodríguez has been ruled out for around six months after tearing cruciate ligaments in his left knee during Argentina's friendly defeat by Spain last night.
The 25-year-old midfielder, who has scored three of Atlético's eight league goals this season, sustained the injury 15 minutes into the match in Murcia. The capital club are fifth in the Primera División ahead of Saturday's visit of RC Recreativo de Huelva.
