Argentina international Federico Insua has completed his move to Borussia Moenchengladbach after lengthy negotiations, the Bundesliga club said on Friday.
The 26-year-old midfielder cost in the region of four million euros ($5.1 million) from Boca Juniors and signed a four-year deal.
"It's the most expensive transfer in the club's history," said Gladbach spokesman Markus Aretz.
"I'm delighted that in signing Federico Insua we have got the offensive midfield player we wanted." said the club's sporting director Peter Pander.
Borussia also agreed a cooperation agreement with Argentine club Boca Juniors until 2010.
