San Lorenzo Coach Oscar Ruggeri, one of the bulwarks in Bilardo's watertight defense in the 1986 campaign explained the to Argentine station 'Nacional' that "Heinze will be the Ruggeri of the Albicelestes team in Germany, and he's got help around him with Ayala, from my point of view still the captain despite Sorin having leadership qualities as well."
