Chelsea chief plays down Tevez rumours (16 May 2006 20:25 GMT)
Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has played down reports the club has made a bid for Argentine star Carlos Tevez.
Kenyon has confirmed that the Premiership champions have looked at the player, who plays in Brazil for Corinthians, but says he is not expecting to see the player in a Chelsea shirt next season.
He told the clubs website: "We have looked at him and he is a good player and does a good job but all the reports of linking us with bids are not right."
"I would be surprised if I saw him in a Chelsea shirt this season coming."
