Tevez and Mascherano released by Corinthians (12 May 2006 19:28 GMT)
Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano have been released by their Brazilian club Corinthians for treatment by Argentinian team doctors before next month's World Cup finals in Germany.
Midfielder Mascherano and striker Tevez, who have left knee and right ankle problems respectively, will be treated in Buenos Aires by the medical service of their national team.
Both players will almost certainly be included in coach Jose Pekerman's 23-man World Cup squad which will be transmitted to FIFA on Monday.
