Veron ponders Inter stay (13 Mar 2006 18:02 GMT)
Juan Sebastian Veron has conceded that he may decide to postpone his Argentina return in favour of remaining for one more season at Inter.
The playmaker had stated on numerous occasions in the past that this would be his final season in Italian football as he wanted to return home for personal reasons.
Yet Veron has now admitted that he is pondering his options after owner Massimo Moratti asked him to reconsider his plans.
"My eventual return to Argentina is now much more improbable than it was before," the South American told Radio La Red.
"I still have one more year left on my contract and the club want me to remain. We are discussing things and they have asked me to think about it."
The former Parma player now seems likely to be going nowhere, especially as Chelsea will have a part to play in his future.
The London club still own his contract and they've already made it clear that they would want a fee for his services should he join a club in Argentina.
"They would ask for a substantial amount in terms of compensation if I was to join another outfit," revealed the player known as "The Witch".
Veron is a favourite of boss Roberto Mancini, a former teammate of his at both Sampdoria and Lazio in the past.
Should he decide to continue his Inter career then the Nerazzurri are subsequently unlikely to follow up their interest in Michael Ballack.
