Encouraging debut for Andres d'Alessandro (2 Feb 2006 20:58 GMT)
Portshmouth's coach Harry Redknapp was delighted at the debut of on-loan Argentinian Andres D'Alessandro after league draw with Bolton.
Redknapp was in raptures about D'Alessandro, who defied the cloying characteristics of a newly-laid Fratton Park pitch to wow the fans.
Twice he was close to scoring and sent in one particularly brilliant free-kick that Sean Davis all but headed home.
"The Argentinian boy is a special player," added Redknapp. "I knew that when I saw him at 18 and he makes the game look easy."
"We have to try and get out of the position we are in and he is the kind who can help."
If he manages to come back to his from from the past, he surely won't be overlooked by Pekerman for World Cup Argentina squad.
